RTE Radio 1 - Arts Tonight
22 October 2012
Seán Keating and the visual culture of modern Ireland

Two exhibitions on Keating are currently running, Seán Keating: Contemporary Contexts at the Crawford Gallery in Cork (until 27 October), and Seán Keating and the ESB: Enlightenment and Legacy at the RHA (until 21 December), both curated by Dr Éimear O'Connor, whose book on Keating will be published next year.

Éimear O'Connor and painter Mick O'Dea meet Vincent Woods at the RHA exhibition to discuss both exhibitions -- the Cork show, which includes Mick O'Dea's 'The Body Snatchers', a portrait of the Black and Tans, and the RHA show, which gathers Keating's paintings recording in vivid detail the 1920s Shannon Scheme for the Electrification of the Irish Free State.
